When looking for Lofts in Long Beach, you definitely want to put the Kress Lofts on your list! The Kress Lofts was created from the building that was originally the retail and office space of S.H. Kress Department Store. This seven story building was designed in 1923 by Thomas Franklin Power and constructed in 1925. This loft project occupies a central location in Downtown Long Beach at 100 W. 5th St.
This loft in Long Beach would not have been possible without historic preservationists Peter Janopaul and Anthony Block. In 1992 they converted that historic building that was left mainly vacant since the death of Samuel Kress in 1981. The conversion was brought to life in the form of 50 wonderful Lofts.
